Am
Samstag dem 14. Juli 2007 ging wiederum eine Woche Upper
Austria Cup zu Ende. 2007 war dies die 22. Auflage des internationalen
Jugendfußball-Turnieres. 23 Nationen mit insgesamt 96
Fußballteams kamen nach Wels.
Dass dieses Jugend-Turnier einen höheren Stellenwert
zu bieten hat, als allgemeiner weise angenommen wird, hat
heuer die Teilnahme von Landeshauptmann Dr. Josef Pühringer
an der "olympischen" Eröffnung am 9.7.2007, wohl gezeigt. |
 Dennoch spielt sich
dieses Jugendturnier leider jedes Jahr weitab des
öffentlichen Interesses ab.
Einige der Turnierteilnehmer haben dazu ihre eigene
Strategie: sie nehmen ihre Fans einfach mit und geben somit
ihren Teams lautstarke Unterstützung. Was prompt mit Siegen
der Mannschaft belohnt wird.
Für Ägypten waren sogar der Ägyptische Botschafter in
Österreich mit hochrangigen Botschaftsangehörigen aus Wien
angereist.
 Für
viele, insbesondere ärmere Länder ist es sehr schwierig an
so einem internationalen Turnier teilzunehmen. Deshalb sind
grade in solchen Fällen Hilfen notwendig. "U.a. hat sich die
Landesregierung sehr eingesetzt und die notwendigen Kontakte
untermauert, welche für verschiedene Visa-Angelegenheiten
geholfen haben", erklärt uns Organisator des Upper Austria
Cup seit 22 Jahren, Herr Johann Oberndorfer, "dafür möchte
ich mich nochmals ausdrücklich bei der Landesregierung
bedanken".
Ebenso ist die Teilnahme von FC Rostov aus Russland durch
bestehende Wirtschaftskontakte über Unterstützung des
Wirtschaftsministeriums zustande gekommen.
Zwiespältig ist der Eindruck wenn es um die Teilnahme von
heimischen Teams geht. Zwar ist erfreulich, dass heuer mehr
Österreichische Vereine teilgenommen haben, als in den
vergangenen Jahren, dennoch zeigten etliche Clubs wenig
Interesse und zogen Badeferien vor.
Gibt es zu wenig Fußballernachwuchs in Österreich oder ist
das Interesse einfach nicht da, sich mit anderen zu messen,
vielleicht sogar etwas zu lernen, oder zumindest
Freundschaften aus der ganzen Welt zu schließen? Umso mehr
war die ganze Fußball-Welt wieder toll vertreten in Wels zu
Gast.
Neu mit dabei war Saudi Arabien, welche auch mit einem
Mädchen-Team gespielt haben. Stark unterwegs war auch ein
renommierter Club aus Ägypten, Al Ahly haben gleich zwei
Bewerbe gewonnen. Auch die Rumänen waren heuer überraschend
gut mit dem Verein Viorel Moldovan. USA ist heuer mit
mehreren Teams angereist und hat auch zwei
Mädchenmannschaften "Stars and Stripes" mitgebracht, die
gegen die Mädchen aus Wolfern, Wels FC, Kirchdorf, Garsten,
Bad Hall und Saudi Arabien gespielt haben.
 Da
sind sogar Freundschaftsspiele (Bild re.: WSC Hertha gegen
Griechenland) in der größten Hitze ausgetragen worden, nur
um die Gelegenheit zu nutzen, die erst in einem Jahr
wiederkommt. Vielleicht! Denn es gibt auch die andere Seite
der Medaille, wie man so schön sagt. Aus dem Libanon waren
Kinder hier, denen es ermöglicht wurde, einmal aus dem
Kriegsgebiet herauszukommen. "Ob wir diese Kinder wieder
sehen werden, steht in den Sternen.", meint Johann
Oberndorfer, "In ihrer Heimat laufen sie täglich Gefahr, von
einem Bombenhagel getroffen zu werden".

Die ersten Siegerehrungen beim
Upper Austria Cup gab es bereits am Freitag, dem 13.7.2007
im Mauth Stadion. Am Bild die Sieger bei den U11 mit ihrem
verdienten 1. Platz: Viorel Moldovan aus Rumänien. Den
2. Platz erreichte Shooting Club (Gruppe F) (EGY). 3. wurde
CSJ Stiinta U Craiova (F) (ROM) bei den U11. |
 In
der Gruppe G (U12) belegte Viorel Moldovan (G) (ROM) den 1.
Platz, 2. wurden Winner FK (G) (SRB) und 3. Akadimia Larcou
(G) (CYP).
Bei den Mädchen spielten in Thalheim heute zwei US-Teams des
selben Clubs um den zweiten und ersten Platz. Sie lieferten
während des gesamten Turniers eine hervorragende Leistung
mit einer bewundernswerten Disziplin ab. Sieger wurde
schließlich Stars and Stripes I (USA), den 2. Platz belegte
Stars and Stripes II (USA) und 3. wurde die
Mädchenmannschaft des FC Wels (AUT) ■ gl

Das "International Youth Soccer
Tournament" wird heuer zum 22. mal ausgetragen.
Jugendliche Fußballer aus der ganzen Welt treffen wieder in
Wels zusammen, um ihr Können zu messen und internationale
Freundschaften zu schließen.

Wann haben einheimische Teams
schon Gelegenheit, gegen Mannschaften aus Brasilien,
Jordanien, Algerien, Oman, Dubai, Marokko, Cypern und noch
viele andere zu spielen.
Aus Italien kommen gleich 9 Teams, aus Saudi Arabien 13
Mannschaften. Eine Bayrische Auswahl will Revanche mit Al
Ahly aus Ägypten, welche beide sehr starke Teams sind.
Es wird wieder Fußball der Spitzenklasse geboten werden.
Mädchenmannschaften kommen heuer aus Liechtenstein, aus
Moskau, Mexiko und aus Saudi Arabien. Insgesamt werden an
die 300 Spiele stattfinden auf Welser Fußballplätzen.
Das Österreichische Schiedsrichterkollegium unterstützt auch
heuer wieder den Upper Austria Cup 2007 tatkräftig und
entsendet seine Schiedsrichterprofis, bei dem Trainerspiel
und den Endspielen werden Europa- und WM-Schiedsrichter
pfeifen.
Für Wels und Umgebung ist dieses Fußballturnier ein
besonderes Ereignis, das sich kein Fußballfreund, jung oder
alt, entgehen lassen sollte!
Der Einmarsch der Nationen und Auftakt der 22.
internationalen Fußballwoche in Wels findet am Montag, 9.
Juli 2007 um 19.00 Uhr am Stadtplatz Wels statt. ■ gl

- Today was really a shock for me. I was expecting the organizing committee to appoint football referee not a Rugby referee.
- The match today between The Serbian team and the Egyptian team for the players of 1996 was another good example how bad is the management of this tournament.
- How can the organizing committee appoint a Rugby referee for a football match???

- I'm 100% sure the referee who managed this match has never heard about football in his life.

- We are always reading the slogan of FIFA (FAR PLAY). But this is the first time to hear about the fair play, Austrian way.
- If this referee, who managed this match, has the chance to see the replay of this match, I'm sure he will hate himself and will look for other job to earn his living and forget about football.

- The organizing committee should have chosen the fair referee who can judge and apply the rules, who can set good examples to young players. Unfortunately this was not the case and in my opinion this is the very big mistake the committee has made, just appointing butchers not football referee.
- I have met a parent from the Cypriot team who told me that his son was attached while playing by an Austrian player and was badly injured and his leg was totally in blood, and the Austrian referee simply continued the match without even looking at the kid who was badly hit.

- The boys are travelling all that way, spending all that money to play, FAIR PLAY and they were expecting football referees to run the matches, not butchers.

- The only way to rectify this big mistake is to re-play this match with another football referee; otherwise we have to learn the new rules for Austrian Fairness.

- When the two teams play well, the loser will congratulate the winner, but when you win because of the referee assistance, this is totally bad, wrong and unacceptable behaviour.

- By the way, did the organizing committee check the player's passports to make sure that the players are playing within their age group??? I doubt. was the age of the Serbian players correct?? I doubt... did anyone bother himself to think about this point??!!

- I will definitely not allow my son to participate again with his team in the coming years in this tournament because I like to teach him principals and fairness
(27.09.2007, 08:44 Uhr) fjw england: the serbian team that played in the final of the under10 age group,definately played boys that were much older, after the first half they were losing easily 4/1 then 3 new older boys were brought on and they easily won 8/5.i have watched football for many years and this was very apparent.i would suggest in future that each footballer has his own id with photo and age gruop.the standard of referees were on the whole sided with any austrian team that played,not much fair play there.the whole town of wells and the people were very friendly though.

I doubt. was the age of some of the Serbian playersn of the 1996 team correct?? I doubt... did anyone bother himself to think about this !!!!

(12.07.2007, 21:20 Uhr) Mohamed Abou Hashish: Unfortunately the management of the tournment is not up to the standards. the management of buses is very bad, the players are stuck in the feilds some times nearly an hour before the bus comes to pick them up to their accommodation. More consideration to details is very much needed and very important.

Am
Mittwoch, den 11. Juli 2007 fand, wie jedes Jahr beim Upper
Austria Cup, der Empfang des Bürgermeisters statt. Eine
kleine Feier gedacht für die Trainer und Coaches der am
Turnier teilnehmenden Länder und ein Dankeschön an den
Bürgermeister für den freundlichen Empfang in der Stadt Wels.
Vertreter
des italienischen Clubs Monte Mare (Bild re.) übergeben ein
Banderole ihrer Gemeinde Monte di Procida, die im August
2007 das hundertjährige Jubiläum der Gemeinde feiern.
Vom
Fußball-Verein Tele Lumiere Nour Sat aus dem Libanon
werden ebenfalls Geschenke übergeben (im Bild ganz rechts). Mohamed Semida
fungierte als Übersetzer (Bild mitte). ■ gl
Hochrangig
war die Politik vertreten. Landeshauptmann Dr. Josef
Pühringer sowie Vizebürgermeister Hermann Wimmer,
Vizebürgermeister Manfred Hochhauser und Stadträtin Silvia
Huber, die sich bei ihren Statements kaum gegen den Lärm der
hunderten fahnenschwenkenden und schlachtrufesingenden
Jugendlichen durchsetzen konnten. ■ gl
